Conures are gorgeous birds that come in a variety of colors. They can be a good bird to consider if you want to get a small to medium-sized pet bird.

Hi, I’m Dr. Laurie Hess, Director of Pet Health and Nutrition at ZuPreem. I wanted to tell you a little bit about a bird that you might not be as familiar with – the conure.
Conures are small to medium-sized birds that are originally found in Central and South America. They’re very colorful. They’re beautiful to look at. They just have a big personality with a lot of charisma and a lot of entertainment. They are a lot of fun, but to match their big personality, they have a very big squawk. They have a screechy kind of cry which, when they don’t get what they want, although they’re very affectionate, when they don’t get what they want and they are a little demanding, they’ll let you know with that big squawk.
So if you are interested in a bird that’s manageable to handle, again, they’re small to medium size and a lot of fun to interact with but they can be quite loud – you have to make sure you don’t have any nearby neighbors or family members that are really sensitive to noise – then you might want to consider the conure.
