Hi, I’m Dr. Laurie Hess, Director of Pet Health and Nutrition at ZuPreem.
I’m commonly asked what’s the difference between the breeder diet and the maintenance diets at ZuPreem for birds.
Birds who are breeding need higher levels of fat and protein, and that’s what’s in the breeder diets which are appropriate for them. Birds who are not breeding don’t need as much fat and protein so they should be fed the maintenance diets. So now it’s clear. Hopefully, if you have a breeding bird, you feed the breeder diet and if you have an adult bird who’s not breeding, you feed the maintenance diet.
